English Primary Teacher
Applications are invited from dedicated and enthusiastic, professional educators to teach in our English track in the AIS Primary School for the '08-09 school year.
The successful Teacher Candidate will have:
- Training and experience in a Primary School setting.
- A strong literacy background
- An international perspective and/or international teaching experience
- Bachelor's degree or Equivalent.
- An unwavering commitment to the students.
- The ability to differentiate for differing ability levels and learning styles
- An understanding of the principles of second language acquisition
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability, and desire, to work collaboratively with the school community including students, staff, and parents.
In addition, the ability to be an active participant in the work of the team, to form a partnership with teaching colleagues and specialist teachers within, and across grade levels is a prime consideration. Previous PYP experience is an advantage but not a requirement.

Spanish Kindergarten Classroom Assistant
Applications are invited from dedicated and enthusiastic professional educators for the position of full-time Spanish Kindergarten Classroom Assistants for the 2008-09 school year. This position requires a fluent Spanish speaker, preferably native Spanish.

Physical Education Teacher Grades K-8
Atlanta International School is searching for proven educators to lead our program to the next level. Applicants must be able to fill a full time Physical Education teaching position for grades K–8.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Teacher Certification.
- Minimum 3 years experience.
- Training and experience working with Primary and Middle School Students
- Expertise across the P.E. Curriculum.
- Innovative, Enthusiastic, and Knowledgeable.
- Ability to teach P.E. in a second language, Spanish
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training and experience in P.Y.P. / M.Y.P. an asset.

Secondary School Chemistry & Science Teacher
Applications are invited from dedicated and enthusiastic, professional educators for the position of IB Chemistry and Science Teacher. This is a full time position with the successful candidate teaching Middle and High school aged students.
Applicants must have training in and the ability to teach the IB science curriculum; with experience in teaching IB Chemistry; an interdisciplinary focus while also integrating innovative learning strategies; and working with a diverse student population.
Educational Requirements and Experience/Skills:
It is expected that candidates for this position will meet the following requirements:
- First degree in Chemistry and teaching certification
- Minimum five years teaching experience
- Be comfortable teaching the subject using an inquiry based, laboratory centered approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work collaboratively with the school community including students, staff, and parents
I.B. and Middle school teaching experience is preferred, but good applicants with experience of teaching A-level /AP (or equivalent) are welcome to apply.

Secondary School Music Teacher

This is a full time position with the successful candidate(s) ready to teach Middle School general music and lead middle school and high school choirs, as well as Honor Choir. Applicants must have training in and the ability to teach music and have an interdisciplinary Secondary School Music Teacher focus while also integrating innovative learning strategies and working with a diverse student population.

It is expected that candidates for this position will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelors Degree and/or Masters Degree in Music Education
- Minimum two years classroom teaching experience
- Experience as a choir master
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work collaboratively with the school community including students, staff, and parents
Preferred requirements include:
- Experience in international and multicultural settings
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate curriculum, particularly the IB Middle Years Program.

Substitute Teachers Needed
AIS welcomes preferably certified teachers to apply for substitute teaching at AIS, both in the Primary School and in the Secondary School. Teachers who speak Spanish, German, French, or English are needed, native speakers preferred. AIS maintains a roster and calls upon substitutes as needed.
