Campaign Overview
At AIS, we have been preparing for our school's growth for quite some time.
Over the years, AIS has continuously raised the bar and is today a leader in global IB education. Our facilities, however, have not held up with the rapid progress of educational advancement.
We brought together a broad range of stakeholders—including more than 500 parents—and engaged in a highly participatory planning process, culminating in our 2006–2010 Strategic Plan, which identified the school’s two most critical facilities needs:
- Establishing a Secondary School Art, Science and Design Center to promote excellence in these disciplines.
- Creating a new, age-appropriate learning environment for our lower Primary School students by building a 4K–2 Early Learning Center
Much of the groundwork has already been done, paving the way for new construction at AIS. Over the past decade, AIS purchased several small properties along Peachtree Avenue, totaling four acres. We are now ready for a significant expansion effort on this land adjacent to our leased campus on North Fulton Drive.
We then set to work designing new facilities that complement our school’s historic structures and the surrounding community. We established a plan to help us see beyond the current limitations of our buildings and create a well-integrated, purpose-built campus.
