Aprendiendo Inglés Sólido
Aprendiendo Inglés Sólido (AIS) is a non-profit organization and a community service group formed by the students from Atlanta International School. The purpose of the group is to be of aid to the Hispanic Primary School community in Atlanta. To accomplish their goal, they tutor, publish a newsletter in Spanish, and fundraise in order to buy teaching supplies.
The AIS group achieves its goal of helping the Hispanic community through tutoring. Besides helping the kids complete their homework, they also play games and do arts and crafts to teach even more English vocabulary.

Letter from Founder Andrea Feuer
Dear Atlanta International School Community,
I am writing to inform you of the great success that the CAS group Aprendiendo Inglés Sólido (AIS) which translates to "Learning Solid English" is having beyond the school community and the Atlanta community.

This year I founded AIS at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. The group is already affiliated with Yale University as an official undergraduate organization and is a member of Dwight Hall. Dwight Hall is the center for public service and social justice for New Haven. Each organization must go through a rigorous application and interviewing process before it is admitted to Dwight Hall. Thus, it is quite a feat to become a member of this organization which only admitted three groups this year: one was AIS.
Julia Taylor (12th grade and President of AIS) and Bianca Paggi (11th grade and Vice-President) played important roles in the success of AIS at Yale. Due to their support and continuation of AIS in Atlanta, I was able to improve my case here in New Haven and founded the group at Yale. The AIS chapter in Connecticut is already tutoring after school at a community center and working with elementary school students and their grandparents improve their English. Not only is it wonderful that an AIS chapter exists at Yale, but the organization just won a $500 grant! Please visit the following website to learn more about the award: http://www.dosomething.org/grants. Congratulations to the AIS group at Atlanta International School for continuing their work with the Hispanic community in Georgia. The group at the school has raised enough money over the years to actually provide a scholarship for a student at the Solidarity School where the group tutors. The CAS group at AIS is really unbelievable and without their hard work the AIS chapter at Yale would have been more challenging to establish.
Congratulations!
