Tennis Update ( April 3, 2008)
The JV tennis team had a home match on Thursday the 27th against Galloway. It was a hot day, every one arrived separately and then we started to play a little for a warm up but seeing that the other team was coming a little late we tried not to get to hot and tired. When our opponents arrived we quickly started the games as we were getting some very precious shade. The games seemed to go very well although due to the absence of our number 1 girls singles player which resulted in some changes. The four first games, singles 1 and 2 for boys and girls all seemed to be in our favor, but we did not get excited too fast remembering how our past match had started the same way to end with all losses in doubles. We did not have to worry as we ended up winning every match. This has been very good for the team morale. The tennis team at AIS is still very young since this is only our second year and we hope to make progress and may be even become a varsity team in a few years. The team seems to have a good future seeing that on that game against Galloway we had no players over 10th grade and some very good young players. Our next game will be against Galloway again, so we hope that they might bring some of their varsity players, so that we can see what level we really are. By Arthur Dehem
