Attention all Upper School Students:
2007 Atlanta International School Essay Writing Contest
What is International Mindedness and why is it Important?
- First place: an iPod Shuffle
- Second place: $25
- Third through fifth places will receive an honorable mention
Judges: Alex Horsley, executive director of the Center for the Advancement and Study of International Education, and Monique Seefried, president of the IBO Council of Foundation.
Submission Guidelines
The contest is open to all students attending high school at AIS.
- Complete one essay of not more than 1,500 words.
- Entries should be completed in MLA format. Guidelines are available from the IB Diploma Coordinator. Entries will not be considered if not submitted in the correct format.
- The cover page must be attached. No further cover need be attached.
- Two hard copy entries must be given to the Upper School office by no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007.
- An electronic copy of the entry must be submitted to turnitin.com by no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007. (Class ID: Writing Contest 2007. Password: contest2007)
- Entries will be judged with the attached rubric and final winner decisions will be announced on Monday, April 16, 2007.
