Carpooling - Make a Difference!
Atlanta International School encourages all parents to carpool whnever possible. In our continuing effort to "go green", AIS has and will continue to make available resources for parents to make finding carpool partners effective and easy. Resources and important information on carpooling is detailed below.
Carpool Project
Dixon Adair, a 10th grade AIS student, put together some impressive information on the positive impact carpooling can have on each family, the AIS community, the city of Atlanta and the world as a whole. As part of his research, using Google Earth, he created a customized map to illustrate where AIS families live and how families could locate potential carpooling partners. We were very impressed with Dixon's work and would like to take his timely ideas and integrate them with our internal database software, Veracross. With the Veracross Parent Portal, parents can not only view directories, but they may also find others who live close by to create their own carpools. The map will also be integrated into the Parent Portal, so finding your perfect carpooling group is a snap.
